What We Do
The AIEB seeks to support and promote community development education and training and ensure quality and standards in practice by the:
- Development and delivery of endorsement frameworks, procedures, and processes for community work education providers.
- Development of standards and support for education and training at all levels.
- Development and maintenance of standards for practitioners, community work organisations, for programmes and policy makers.
- Development and maintenance of appropriate links and exchanges with national and international quality assurance and educational bodies.
In pursuit of these, AIEB convenes the Community Work Educators Forum, the Students Forum, national seminars, working groups and workshops on issues of interest for those involved in the community work discipline. These fora focus on work to promote and support the discipline and the work of community work education and training providers and practitioners.
The Community Work Educators forum provides a unique space for those involved in teaching community work/community development. It provides a forum for the exchange of ideas, issues, and approaches by community work educators. The forum also provides a space to begin exploring possible collaborations between various participants.
The annual Student Forum provides a space for students on community work education and training programmes to come together as a collective on a similar professional journey to share information and exchange ideas.
